DOST-PCAARRD’s 3rd AIPF sets the stage for collaboration among researchers, startups, and industry to accelerate innovation

Collaboration is at the heart of innovation.

To strengthen partnerships that move research beyond the laboratory and into practical applications, the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-PCAARRD) will bring together champions of innovation at the Agri-Aqua Innovation Pitch Fest (AIPF) 2026, the 3rd in a series, on August 11, 2026, in Los Baños, Laguna. Anchored on the theme, "Partnership and Collaboration in Action: Accelerating Research Results for Development," the event aims to create meaningful connections that can accelerate the commercialization and wider adoption of technologies in the agriculture, aquatic, and natural resources (AANR)..

AIPF 2026 expands its collaborative platform by introducing two new categories that strengthen connections between innovation developers and end users.

For the first time, the AIPF 2026 will feature the Startup Pitching of nine promising startups –  Vera Bella Enterprises Limited Co., Blends4u, Algacon Aquafeeds Manufacturing, Mundo Engineering Works, Fullmight Agricultural Corporation, AGQUA Veterinary Medicine Manufacturing, Inc., EEnovatics, Inc., Eldica Farm and Seafood Processing, and Blitzkrieg Animal Diagnostic Center. These enterprises are testimonies of how research can evolve into market-ready businesses.

Complementing the startup pitches are eight technologies developed by state universities and research institutions through their research and development (R&D) initiatives –  Mussel Glycogen, MUCAS IoT-Smart Greenhouse Hydroponics and Agricultural Technologies, BioCoat Z: Particle Film Technology for Cacao Pests, Onion Harvester, Ricehull Decontaminating Machine for Broiler Breeder Production, Salted Duck Egg Powder, Agrotis GPS-guided Robotic Hand Tractor for Rice Farming, and SPIN YY Tilapia. By presenting

these technologies to industry representatives, investors, and commercialization experts, the event opens opportunities for licensing, adoption, co-development, and wider utilization.

Further strengthening the spirit of collaboration, AIPF 2026 introduces the Reverse Pitching category, where industry leaders from various AANR sectors take the stage to present pressing industry challenges, emerging trends, and priority areas that require research and technological interventions. By reversing the traditional pitching format, this session encourages a two-way dialogue between technology developers and industry, helping to ensure that future research addresses real-world market needs.

A platform for innovation

Since its inception in 2022, AIPF has grown from the culminating activity of DOST-PCAARRD’s Technology Promotion Mentorship Series (TPMS) into a national platform that cultivates meaningful partnerships across the AANR innovation ecosystem. More than a venue for pitching technologies, AIPF serves as a meeting ground where researchers, entrepreneurs, industry leaders, investors, government agencies, and other innovation enablers converge to explore opportunities for technology adoption, investment, commercialization, and long-term collaboration.

Building its momentum, AIFP 2024 in Pampanga saw outstanding innovators and technologies from various state universities across the country. The award for Best Pitch was given to Caraga State University's Sago Pith Extracting Device, followed by Bohol Island State University's COPELT Bioleather from Cogon Grass (1st Runner-up) and  Bicol University's Pili Postharvest Machines (2nd Runner-up). These technologies demonstrated the potential of Philippine research to address industry needs and improve the competitiveness of the AANR sector.

Now on its third installation, AIPF 2026 reflects DOST-PCAARRD’s continuing commitment to strengthen the country’s innovation ecosystem by creating spaces where ideas, expertise, and opportunities intersect. Through strategic partnerships among the government, academe, startups, industry, and professional organizations, the Council aims to accelerate the journey of research results from the laboratory to the farms, fisheries, enterprises, and communities.

Conduct of AIPF 2026 is in partnership with the Capiz State University (CapSU), Cavite State University (CvSU), and the Association of PAQE Professionals, Inc. (APP). Watch the celebration live on Facebook on August 11, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM via this link: https://bit.ly/AIPF2026Live.
