The Batanes State College (BSC) holds the inauguration of the Intellectual Property and Technology Business Management (IPTBM) office and marker unveiling ceremony on April 3, 2025, at Basco, Batanes.

The establishment of IPTBM offices is a national initiative of the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-PCAARRD) towards intellectual property (IP) protection and technology commercialization.

In a message, BSC President Dr. Djovi R. Durante, expressed his gratitude to the unwavering support of DOST-PCAARRD for making the establishment of the IPTBM office possible. He also emphasized how the initiative reshaped the landscape of IP management at BSC, where a culture of excellence and adherence to best practices is also fostered.

DOST-PCAARRD’s Technology Transfer and Promotion Division (TTPD) Assistant Director Ms. Lucy A. Lastimosa congratulated BSC for successfully establishing an IPTBM office in Batanes. The Batanes IPTBM is an addition to the existing 91 IPTBM offices nationwide.
