Aiming to satisfy the dietary needs of growing glass eels, a floating eel feed was optimally developed by the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV).
The Algal Diversity and Bioresources (ADB) laboratory team led by Dr. Garry A. Benico of the Central Luzon State University (CLSU) organized a training on the identification of fish-killing small dinoflagellates that belong to Family Kareniaceae.

"We need to strengthen the cooperation of the DOST family and the members of the House of Representatives (HOR) by providing opportunities like this to converge our efforts so that we may be able to solve the present problems," said Zamboanga del Sur 2nd district Representative Jeyzel Victoria C. Yu during a scientific ocular visit at the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-PCAARRD).
Now in its second year of implementation, an Isabela State University (ISU)-led project sought to explore effective ways to increase the survival rate of freshwater eels (Anguilla marmorata).
By harnessing solar energy in the dehydration process, the Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U) addresses the urgent need for sustainable solutions to mitigate postharvest losses, promote energy efficiency, and incorporate value-added processing.
