NOMCAARRD

Northern Mindanao Consortium for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (NOMCAARRD)

Establishment and Membership
The Northern Mindanao Consortium for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (NOMCAARRD) is an organization tasked to coordinate the regional research, development, and extension priorities along with agriculture, fisheries, forestry and natural resources sector in Region 10.

NOMCAARRD began in December 1978 as Northern and Central Mindanao Coordinated Agriculture and Resources Research Program (NOCEMCARRP) with only 9 members agencies. Then, it became the Northern Mindanao Consortium for Agriculture and Natural Resources Research and Development (NOMCARRD) with more members added. In 2011, however, in line with the rationalization program of the government, the Philippine Council for Aquatic Marine Resources Research and Development (PCAMRRD) was integrated with the Philippine Council for Agriculture and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCARRD) that became the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD) that we know today. With this NOMCARRD was renamed in 2015 as the Northern Mindanao Consortium for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (NOMCAARRD) and has had added 7 more member institutions.

To date, NOMCAARRD has 20 member institutions and is one of PCAARRD’s 15 regional consortia and one of the 5 in Mindanao. NOMCAARRD remains stationed at Central Mindanao University in Musuan, Bukidnon, conveniently situated at the heart of Mindanao.
